Carton House and Vanishing Art

Hats and scarves at the ready!!! Last Tuesday afternoon we went to Carton House to view an art exhibition. It was both indoors and out doors, which was great. They really could not have given a better name to this art exhibition, because once you went outside it was almost a search for the art pieces. They blended so well into their surroundings.

Here's one of the pieces.

The outside
From looking at this it is a pretty pink doll like play house, but on closer examination. The inside was not as "pretty" and "clean" as the inside.

I liked this because it teaches you a valid, life lesson.

We also had the chance to meet some rugby players who where training on the grounds, which was fab.

Science Has Begun!

For the first term, we are doing chemistry, but with a twist.

Cosmetic Chemistry!

The first double class we had, we made bath bombs.

 For This we used:

  • > 20g Sodium     Bicarbonate
  • > 10g Citric Acid
  • > sunflower oil
  • > essential scented oils
  • > food colouring

Finished bath bomb (left) and work in progress (right)
It was really intresting to seehow these were made because they are very popular at the moment with big brands like LUSH.
